Update at laaaaast!!
So very sorry I have been so lax about updating here! As you may know, we went to Canada for 2 weeks in February. We had a great time, but it was too stinkin' short! Two weeks is nothing! We weren't as lucky with the weather on this trip as the time before.... it was c-c-c-cold!! I think it hovered in the -20°'s for most of the two weeks though we did have a BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL day on Family Day (Feb 21st) when we went skating on the lake in Hawrelak Park. We had planned to perhaps ski for a day in Banff when we visited at the end of our trip; but it was too cold to ski! Nevermind, there's always next time.
I have added a "stand alone" page for my photos. Click the "photos" link at the top of the left-hand side to see the photos from our trip.
ETA: Eek! I just realised I haven't yet made an album of our trip to Europe!
On the day we came home, Katia performed in a dance show. Since September she's been attending a dance school on Saturdays in a neighbouring town and she takes disco, ballet & tap and musical theatre. She absolutely loves it and was very excited to be participating in the show. Including the finale, she was in seven - SEVEN! - performances. She did really, really well - considering she'd missed the two weeks previously - but especially because she'd just flown 4000 miles that day! She had two more shows on the following nights and of course was disappointed when it was finished... but she's got another show coming up in May, so not too long to wait.

Last week, we went to Germany for 4 nights to celebrate Martin's grandmother's 90th birthday. All the family here went; 14 of us in all - 7 adults and 7 kids and we had a really good time! We practiced our German for a few weeks before we went. Martin is good; he was the translator most of the time though luckily for him there were a few other family members on the German side who can speak quite good English. I am still really rubbish at speaking German, but I am getting better at understanding it every time we visit. The weather was glorious on the weekend; around 22 - 24°C on both Saturday and Sunday and I even got a bit of a sunburn on Sunday! Who'd have thought to bring sunscreen in April?! I have got photos from the weekend to upload, but as it took me a month to sort out the Canada pictures, I might not get them up too quickly!
