Now the fun starts!

For the last 6 months we've been talking about how we're going to spend our next holiday. We decided that we will go on a short tour around some of Europe's cities.... by rail. We'd like to give the kids the opportunity to see some of these great cities while we are still living here; as it's going to be a lot more difficult once we move to Canada. We've all been very excited talking about it, and everyone we've told our plans to has said "ooh... how exciting!" etc... but the truth of the matter is that until today, we had not done any "planning" whatsoever toward this holiday, despite the fact that we plan to leave in just over 6 week's time! So.... today we actually made some headway and have booked our outgoing and incoming flights. We fly out of Liverpool on October 23rd and fly to.... Amsterdam! We chose Amsterdam for no other reason than because the flights were cheapest! We are flying back to Liverpool on November 2nd from Paris! Yay! Exciting stuff! 'Course, we're not exactly sure how we'll get to Paris from Amsterdam or where we'll stop along the way.... but at least it's a start!
