Spring (???) cleaning

It might still be the middle of winter, but we're having a clearout. Over the last few years we've been gathering up our old clothing and unwanted goods and have got rid of quite alot of stuff, but we've still got loads of stuff sitting in bags and boxes ready to get rid. The other day Martin emptied a room of all the junk we'd been chucking in there (it was full!) and now we're actively trying to get rid - either through offering to friends and family, selling on eBay, taking to the dump or through a recycling group I've just joined called FreeCycle. I think FreeCycle is fantastic! Just this week I have given away two sets of cordless phones, a stroller, some photo paper and a box full of Thomas the Tank toys & books. I have also been the recipient of an unwanted electronic piano keyboard. :) The kids love it and we're even discussing piano lessons! I intend to use FreeCycle often! ;)

Below are a few photos I took on the weekend. It was the first sunny day in weeks though it was pretty cold with very strong winds - which have gotten stronger over the week. Yesterday the kids were off school because of a burst water pipe and Martin's brother's house was without electricity due to a fallen tree. Tonight promises more of the same. :(
