Easter Holidays - one week down!

The kids finished school on Thursday, April 1st and they don't go back to school until the 19th. That's nearly 3 weeks off! Unfortunately for them - the restaurant has been fairly busy and we haven't been able to get out as much as we'd have liked to but we did manage a couple of outings last week. Last Sunday we went to the nearby town of Beddgelert. We often visit Beddgelert when we've got a bit of spare time; it's very pretty there, the shops are open everyday (unlike here) and they've got the BEST ice cream shop in the world. There's also a lovely riverside walk and so we set off to walk for about an hour then reward ourselves with a lovely ice cream at the end. These photos were taken with my phone - unfortunately they're not the best quality!

On the rocky steps along the river walk.

The orange-tinted soil and rocks from the copper mine at the top of the mountain.

Beautifully carved gate along the river path.

Enjoying Glaslyn Ices famous ice cream!

On Wednesday we went to Llanddwyn Beach on the isle of Anglesey. We went here a few years ago in the summer and it was absolutely packed with people, but as it's still only April we thought we'd take a chance and do a little kite-flying. It is a massive stretch of beach and though there still was quite a lot of people when we got there, there was plenty of room.

The kite is finally up and flying!

If you click on the photo you might be able to see the lighthouse in the background. Apparently used in a Demi Moore film.

Cheese!

Busy creating!

Katia's funny face creation

There are lots of rocks at the far end of the beach - great for climbing on, but you wouldn't want to fall!

Easy does it....

Hopefully the weather will continue to be as lovely as the last several days have been!
