A bit of randomness

Well, not alot to report around here. I've still got the same cold I've had since the beginning of October and combine that with the flu I had first, and I've been a sickie for nearly a month now. I'm not really sick anymore, just a bit sniffly and a slight cough and on Saturday I had some sort of stomache illness. We went to a Food Festival and yes, I guess I indulged a little and my tummy decided to rebel. I have not been officially diagnosed with anything, but I suspect I either have a slight gluten intolerance or maybe even IBS - but I mostly feel fine provided I avoid bread or certain cereals like bran and rye. I didn't exactly follow this on Saturday though - which might have been what caused it, but at any rate I am feeling back to normal now.

Christian seems to have picked up my cold/flu though and is laying on the sofa feeling sorry for himself right now. It's half-term this week and I suspect he'll be spending most of it on the sofa.

We haven't had any interest in the restaurant yet but we are not surprised by this. We've always expected that it will take some time and there are 2 other restaurants for sale in town, so IF there is anyone out there looking, I'm sure they would look at all 3 restaurants, so I presume there's no one about yet. The restaurant is still doing fine, despite the 'economic downturn' - but it is definitely quieter than previous years.

Katia went to a fancy-dress party on Friday. I only found out about it on Thursday night, so I went into town on Friday with a few ideas. It had a "movie star" theme and we weren't sure if it meant celebrities or movie characters but when I found this orange turtleneck sweater and brown skirt at a charity shop I thought I'd take a chance that Katia might agree to dress up as Velma Dinkley from Scooby Doo. Most of the other girls were dressed as Hannah Montana or High School Musical characters (ie. looked pretty) so I wasn't sure if she would go for this or not - but she did and she was very pleased with the end result.
