First Day of School!

The first day of school has finally arrived! Both kids were very excited - but especially Christian! He is starting secondary school today, so he double, triple and quadruple-checked that he had everything before he left! I hope he enjoys his day and that he looks forward to going back tomorrow!

We are currently in the process of booking a trip to Germany. We have been trying to go nearly every year, but last year the cheap airline we usually travel with (Easy Jet) decided to cancel our usual route. Suddenly, it became alot more difficult and expensive to pop over for a few days. We haven't gone together as a family since November, 2007 (though Martin and his brother visited this past April) so we really think it's time that we make another visit. As flying has become so expensive, we've decided to drive and I've just booked a ferry from Dover to France. The plan is to stay perhaps two nights en route to Germany, with 5 nights in Germany before heading back home. We have made sure that we will be away for Katia's birthday since (for some reason) it has been a dream of hers to be away on holiday for her birthday!
