Pulling a sickie....

Yesterday, just before she was due to leave for school, Katia complained she had a bad tummy ache. :( I, myself was not feeling well (think I've got a bit of flu) and the last thing I wanted was to be phoned to come and fetch her from school when all I wanted was to veg out in front of the tv - so I kept her at home. Through the day she seemed fine; everytime I asked her how her tummy was, she said it still hurt alot but it didn't really stop her from playing on the computer or with her toys, or from making crafts.... At around 2 o'clock she asked if it was too late for her to go to school now and I said yes and asked her how her tummy was and she announced "It's better now." Hmmm....... So I told her that she'd have to go to school today, even if her tummy was hurting and she agreed that she wasn't really sick. So guess what? She's just been sent home from school with a tummy ache and a bit of a temperature! I still don't quite know what to make of it but I started asking a few questions and she agreed that her tummy feels worse when she worries about school - she apparently has some homework due tomorrow that she hadn't even looked at all weekend. So, I guess we'll have to see how it feels after her homework is completed...
